Celebrity in the Family

About 10 years ago, my uncle Tim and his fire squad rescued a little boy from a well in Kansas. Last night on Dateline, they had a show about the "10 Most Amazing Rescues Caught on Tape" and they featured his story of the rescue. What an amazing rescue it was and we're lucky to have someone like Tim in our family :-)

Model A

After many years of being covered in dust and grime the beast is starting to emerge from the cave in Edwardsburg Michigan. My dad is keeping me up to date on the "Model A" project and it's looking good. He states that the sanding & buffing is all completed. The pictures don't do it any justices, he also said that it is very smooth and looks just like glass. I can't wait to go for a ride in it, or drive it!! I think he will have it done just in time for the $5 dollars a gallon gas craze!! It looks great dad!!

Ball & Chain

Today I learned that one of my best friends is currently putting on the old ball & chain. Yes, he is getting married, he called this morning and said that he is engaged. So what did I do? Well, what any gentleman would do.....try to talk him out of it and give him pointers. All joking aside, Congrats to Kyle and Carrie and we can't wait to visit and throw a big wedding party!!

Ground Breaking

Well today was an enjoyable day! It started off with the groundbreaking ceremony of "The Colonnade Recreation Center". The picture shown above is the design team that I have been apart of for the last year. The Recreation Center will house meeting rooms, dining rooms, kitchen, lobby and my 3rd maintenance supervisor's office. Then myself along with a few others had a meeting with the founder of Roskamp Arizona Management and Development, "Bob Roskamp". I had to listen to about 3 separate speeches from him today. I also met councilman / zoning and planning commissioner for the city of Surprise while hanging out with our very own CEO and Executive Vice President of Sun Health. The day went very well but it was HOT!! One day of fun and now it's back to work for me to help oversee some areas of the construction and soon we will start on the next project which will be the townhouses and villas..

Future Trip

I have registered my dad and myself for a Utah trip in September. We will trailer the quads from our house to Richfield, Utah which will take 10 hours. We already have all the trails and plans laid out for the whole week. There are 5 of us going and we are all hoping for snow, just like in the picture. I will definitely pack more tow straps just in case dad gets stuck. The following link will take you to a website that shows the whole ATV JAM experience. http://www.atvjam.com/

Ultrasound

We went in for another ultrasound on Friday and we were thrilled when they said they were already able to identify the sex of our new baby...Are you ready...DRUM ROLL PLEASE...It's a BOY! Well at least that is their best guess right now. It is still pretty early to tell and they told us not to run out and buy anything yet (yeah right!) but the Ultrasound Technician sounded pretty certain. We have another ultrasound scheduled in 4 weeks so they will double check the sex of the baby then. So don't change your vote yet, the verdict is still out :-)

This is a side profile. It's a little hard to tell.

Okay, so I can't really tell it's a boy...so I guess I'll have to take their word for it!

Doctors Appointment

Today I had my 14 week checkup at the doctors. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was really amazing! After a few seconds of listening, my doctor declared, "It's a boy"! I asked him how he could tell and he said because boys heartbeats sound like a horse. So we'll put one "boy vote" in for my doctor :-) We'll get to find out for sure in just 4 short weeks. We can hardly wait!

Gina's Birthday

On Saturday we celebrated Gina's birthday by having some fun in the sun. You probably noticed Gina, Jason, and Ethan are all missing from the pictures...Poor Gina and Jason were at home sick with the flu. Well, we couldn't let all that good food go to waste so we went on with the party. We'll have to make it up to Gina later in the week! It was 106 degrees out so we spent the whole afternoon in the pool trying to keep cool. I think Blaze had the most fun swimming and floating around in the raft. Later that night he was so exhausted we could barely get him to walk upstairs to go to bed.

Happy Birthday, Gina! We're sorry you missed your party and hope you're feeling better soon!

Heavy Artillery

After spending a couple days in California dealing with other drivers, cars, traffic and streets in Los Angeles, he has resorted to heavy artillery. If we didn't have GPS, we would still be looking for our hotel. I think if you can survive the traffic jams here, you can drive anywhere. Los Angles streets are horrible!
