This is why you should never let your husbands buy 4 wheelers with winches!

Night Out
Last night we left Tyler with Nana and had an adult night out. Neal's work purchased tickets to a charity auction to raise money for some area hospitals. It was called a "Top Hat and Tails" event that was held at the Wigwam Resort. The men dressed in tuxes and the women were all in black and white. The dinner was very elegant with a salad as starters, a bit of sherbet to cleanse that palate between courses, a serving of mahi mahi, filet mignon, and some fancy puff thing for dessert. Of course Neal and I are picky eaters so we just had to laugh each time they brought out these elegant dishes. We did try everything and we enjoyed most of it (even the fish) which was quite surprising for us. I was able to snap a couple of pictures of some of the food, but I unfortunately didn't catch everything.

Let the Baby Proofing Begin!
Neal and I have had it pretty easy around here for the past 10 months. When we needed to get something done around the house, we have always been able to put Tyler down, surround him with toys and he is one happy little camper. He was able to move about a foot or so but we could aways count on him staying where we put him. Well my little man is getting stronger now and today he began crawling all around our house. He was crawling after Blaze and then crawling all through the kitchen. I would have thought the tile floor would have been a great deterrent, but I was sadly mistaken. That seemed to be his favorite place to hang out. Then Tyler crawled up to a wicker chest we have, pulled a stick off of it and proudly turned around and handed me the broken piece of wood. The sad thing is, when I tell him "no", he gets this cute little smile and gives me one big belly laugh! Now how can I teach him "no" when he is just so stinkin cute!
Looks like we'll be baby proofing our house now and entering a whole new phase of parenting.

Happy Halloween
Halloween has never really been one of my favorite holidays. When I was a kid, I loved the candy of course but I was a little too shy to enjoy the dressing up and knocking on stranger's doors to get the candy. As an adult, I have enjoyed seeing the children in their costumes but still wasn't too thrilled about the day. This year however was the first year that I was actually looking forward to Halloween. We had fun taking Tyler to the pumpkin patch (even if he is a little to young to understand it). We picked out Tyler's costume a couple months early (not a good idea though because he nearly outgrew it). We carved a pumpkin (a day too late but he'll never know). And Tyler got to spend the evening taking a ride in the stroller while his cousins went up to the houses. Halloween is a strange holiday but it is so much more entertaining when you have a child of your own to dress up and share the day with.
