Surgery

As most of you know, Tyler has a hole in his heart that needs to be repaired, so we met with the surgeon today to discuss Tyler's upcoming surgery on June 30th. The surgery will be done at Phoenix Children's Hospital and will last about 2 hours. During that time, Tyler will be put on a heart-lung bypass machine to send blood and oxygen to his body when they stop his heart to perform the surgery. The doctors say the surgery is routine and the complications Tyler could face are low. However, it is all very scary to me. It is going to be a very trying time for us while Tyler is in surgery and waiting for him to recover. The good thing is that when this is all over, Tyler will begin to grow and catch up to his peers. He will no longer have to take daily medications and he will be a healthy little boy.
Please keep Tyler in your prayers these next few weeks so that he can have a safe and quick recovery.
Thank you!

Baptism
While we were in Indiana, we had Tyler baptised at St. Stanislaus church where Neal and I got married 8 years ago this month. Tyler was dressed in an adorable gown that was worn by many of the Konieczny's including his daddy and his great grandpa Don. That dates the gown to nearly 100 years old. We were honored that Tyler got to wear it.
Poor Tyler cried through the whole baptism. We thought we had him all fed and ready to go but things never seem to go as planned when your working with a little one. That was okay though. It still turned out nice and we were glad to be able to have it done at St. Stans on such short notice before Tyler's surgery.

Indiana Trip
We just got back this week from a trip back home to Indiana. We spent about 10 days there visiting family and friends. It was nice to go back and see all the green and pretty flowers in bloom. I could have done without all of the rain and humidity, but Neal loved the thunderstorms! It was all worth it though after not being able to come home for 2 years.
Tyler experienced a lot of firsts on this trip...he took his first plane ride, first time meeting so many friends and relatives, first boat ride, first trip to Notre Dame, first time laying in grass, and so much more. Tyler also enjoyed all of the attention he got from the grandparents and his cousins! He's never seen quite so many people at one time before but he loved it.
We really enjoyed all of the parties everyone had for us and seeing so many people. We appreciate everyone coming to visit us on such short notice, it really made for a memorable trip. Thanks to Mom, Dad, Gary, and Dianne for letting us stay with you and leaving a mess of baby "stuff" all over your houses!
We look forward to coming back to Indiana soon and everyone is welcome to come visit us anytime in AZ.

Splash Pad
I took Tyler to the splash pad at Marley Park for the first time last week with Jillian, Lindsey, and their kids. It was a nice way to cool off on such a hot day. Tyler was in a trance watching the other kids splash around and play. He got to put his feet in a little and get wet but hopefully the next time we go, Tyler will be big enough to sit on his own and play with his buddies in the water!
